DBI is one of the leading European fire institutes with 280 highly qualified employees, all working with fire protection and safety.
We work across all areas within fire and safety issues - from product development and fire testing of materials and constructions to investigations of fire sites and fire causes for police and insurance companies. In addition, we have a large fire safety consulting department who advice building material manufacturers, architects, consulting engineers, public institutions, authorities, etc. in the areas of fire safety and legal requirements regarding fire and other fire-related issues.
Furthermore, we have a large research and development department and invest many millions of Euros in fire protection research every year. At the same time, we publish numerous publications, participate in European standardization work and chair the European organization for fire protection, CFPA Europe.
The reporting time of our fire tests is four weeks - and for fast track history only a few days. A full classification audit process takes between six weeks and three months from initial dialogue to delivered report (and certification). Development reviews, which are used as an aid in the product development process, are significantly faster than classification reviews.
